Roses are probably the most popular pick, and each color has a different meaning. Red roses stand for love and passion. Pink represents gratitude and happiness, white roses are considered a bridal rose and represent innocence and purity. Yellow is for friendship, so skip these if you are sending them to a girlfriend. Orange roses represent desire. Purple can mean you fell in love at first sight, so don’t send these to your casual co-worker or secretary. When you mix colors together they can mean different things to, so be sure to ask the florist what color will get your message across.
Another great bloom is the Carnation. These also have special meanings with each color. Pink is beauty, red is love, purple capriciousness, yellow is rejection and disappointment, and white stands for purity. Beware of striped Carnations as they mean refusal.
